Switzerland - Day 2

Today we woke up and ate nasty croissants we bought at the supermarket last night. Then we went to the tourist center by our hostel and got a few ideas as to what to see in Bern in just a few hours. We first stopped at the bear pit - except it wasn't that exciting because they were cleaning it so there weren't any bears in it.
Then we hiked up a hill to the Rosengarten ("rose garden") to see a BEAUTIFUL view of the city. I've decided that Bern is one of my new favorite places in the world.
After that we went to Einstein's home on the main street and toured his tiny apartment. It was fun to learn more about Al's personal life and and very interesting too!

Next we did a little bit of shopping, walked passed parliament, and then went to Starbucks to get WiFi so Ramzi could get in contact with Janine so we could figure out where to meet her when we arrived in Zurich.
We then got on the train to Zurich, another train to Dubendorf (where Janine's family lives), and then we hopped on a bus towards Janine's house. When we got off, there she was! She's awesome. Ramzi met her at BYU-Hawaii and she's actually going on a mission in May....to ENGLAND!! She's going to the Manchester mission! Janine's family is amazing too and they are very nice to let us stay with them. So we dropped our bags off there and Janine took us on a mini-tour of Zurich! We walked to Zurich lake and hung out there for a bit, went to a park that had a beautiful view of the city, and swung on the swings for a bit. Then we went to a Migro's (grocery store) and got some food because we were starving!
I love the Swiss...They have drinking fountains EVERYWHERE!

After that we went back to Janine's house and while she and her boyfriend, Bodo, and her brothers played street hockey, we watched "Taken" with Janine's parents. This was a BAAAAD idea to watch this movie because it's about two girls that get kidnapped while on a trip to Paris. It was terrifying! Especially because Carly and I are so close to splitting off from Ramzi and traveling Europe by ourselves! It was a little freaky but I love scary movies, so it was fun. Janine, Bodo, and her brothers (Bodi, Rico, and Boris) came back and we ate strawberries with this flowy-custard-type pudding on it. We didn't really know what it was, but it was good! The three of us made our day plan to Zermatt tomorrow and now we're off to bed! It's been an exhausting 2 days!!

The loft Carly & I slept in.
